We Recycled 2.5 Tons of Carpet for Delta Airlines

At Blue Sky, we understand the importance of sustainability. When our client, Delta Air Lines, asked us to dispose of some of their property, the next question was, “how can we do it responsibly?” Delta Air Line’s commitment to sustainability is about joining arms to create a better world. With that in mind, they donated over 2.5 tons of their carpet to be recycled! Many people are not aware that carpet can be recycled, which is why we’re spreading the word!♻️🙌

The four main materials that makeup carpets are wool, nylon, polyester, and polypropylene. Polyester is the hardest and most costly to recycle, while the other three are easily recyclable and can be turned into insulation, fertilizer, washing machine parts, and even new carpet!

If your carpet is still in good condition, you can even donate it to an animal shelter or a non-profit organization. To properly recycle your carpet, visit a carpet recovery center and drop it off, some may even come collect it from you!

So next time you’re about to dump some old carpet, check out your options and find it a good home!
